Howard B. Hill, 90, of Decatur, passed away at 4:06 a.m., December 15, 2011 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
A service to celebrate Howard's life will be at 10 a.m., Monday, December 19, 2011 at the First Christian Church, Blue Mound with Rev. Dr. Ellen Moma officiating. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Blue Mound. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church, Blue Mound.
Howard was born July 11, 1921 in Macon County, IL, the son of Chester R. and Allie (Brown) Hill. He married L. Christine Gorden on January 23, 1944. He worked all of his life as a farmer in the Central Illinois area. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Blue Mound and a Master Mason in the Blue Mound Masonic Lodge #682.
Surviving is his wife: Christine of rural Decatur, son; John G. Hill and his wife Linda of rural Decatur; daughter: Carolyn Pistorius and her husband Tim of rural Decatur; brother: William F. Hill of Decatur; grandchildren: Amy Pritchard and her husband Mike of Blue Mound, Sarah Hill of Casey, Jill Jones and her husband Chris of Decatur, Pete Pistorius and his wife Megan of Blue Mound, Katie Paulek and her husband Craig of Stonington, and Molly Pistorius and her fiancé' Shane Major of Blue Mound; also surviving are thirteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

I was notified of Howard's passing today. I am so sorry to hear. I know what it is to lose a spouse after a lifetime of togetherness,compassion and love. My condolences to you and your family. Howard was one of my favorite people and I always enfoyed our visits and will remember him with admiration.
